When you are admitted to the hospital, let them know that “Treehouse Pediatrics” will be your baby’s Pediatrician, or you may also name any one of our doctor’s that you choose.

If you deliver at North Austin Medical Center, the Pediatrician on call will come visit your baby every day in the hospital (they can call us when your baby is born).

If you deliver at one of the other local hospitals, the Pediatrician on-staff at that hospital will take care of your baby while your there.

When your baby is discharged, call us at (512) 255-8868 and we will get your baby set up for your first appointment with us. Your first visit will be within 1 to 3 days of your discharge.

Your first visit will be within 1 to 3 days of your newborn’s life.

Please arrive for your first appointment 15 minutes early to ensure we have all your registration completed before your appointment.

Important Reminder: After your baby is born, please make sure you call your insurance company or your HR Department to have your baby added to your policy within the first 30 days of life. You will want to bring your insurance card with you to your first appointment, so we have everything we need to submit your baby’s claims after you have added baby to your plan.

Please, call us anytime! Our qualified Triage Team is available Monday – Friday, 8am-5pm to answer your questions. After hours phone calls are answered by our call center and our on-call physician always available to answer urgent questions. We also encourage every patient to set up a Patient Portal account to send us messages and to conveniently manage your account.

Frequently Asked Questions

How soon after birth will my baby be seen?

Most hospitals ask for the name of your pediatrician before you deliver. That way, if there are complications during your pregnancy or delivery, your baby can be examined by their pediatrician at birth, otherwise your baby’s first examination will take place by one of our doctors within the first 24 hours after birth.  Our doctors see babies at St. David’s North Austin Medical Center.  If you deliver at another hospital, we ask that you call our office to schedule a follow up 1-3 after you and your new baby are discharged from the hospital.

Are immunizations required at Treehouse?

Yes. At Treehouse, we believe in the effectiveness of vaccines to prevent serious illness, to promote health and wellness, and to save lives.  We also believe in the safety of vaccines.

Who covers, if my doctor is not available?

Our Doctors will always try to be available to see patients.  Should the schedule be full or a time slot not available that meets your need, our Nurse Practitioners are ready to help.

Do I need to make an appointment if I have questions?

Please, call us anytime!  Our qualified Triage Team is available Monday – Friday, 8am-5pm to answer your questions.  After hours, phone calls are answered by our call center, with our on-call physician always available to answer urgent questions.

What is the checkup and immunization schedule?

We follow the guidelines established by The American Academy of Pediatrics.  They recommend checkups at 2, 4, 6, 9, 12, 15, 18, 24, and 30 months.  Checkups should be scheduled annually after that. Check your insurance to confirm which well visits are covered.

For more details, click here for the full schedule on our parent company website.

What is the Patient Portal?

We recommend that every family sets up a Patient Portal account. The Patient Portal gives parents the opportunity to view upcoming appointment, message your provider, view test/lab results, and more!
