Dr. Shannon Mooney is a Texas native. She was born and raised in Bryan/College Station, TX, and a childhood fan of Texas A&M bonfires!  As a little girl, her favorite activity was playing in her backyard treehouses, equipped with a suspension bridge from one treetop to the other!  She cherishes knowing that these treehouses were designed and built by her father!  I guess it is no surprise then that she is now working in a “Treehouse”!

Dr. Mooney graduated from Texas Lutheran College with a Bachelor’s of Arts degree in Biology, and completed medical school at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. She completed her pediatric training in the pediatric residency program at the San Antonio Military Pediatric Center.  She served seven years in the United States Army, including one tour in Iraq during Operation Iraqi freedom.

Dr. Mooney is board-certified in Pediatrics. She has been an International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant since 2005. To her, encouraging mothers with breastfeeding is one of her most significant passions in pediatrics. Being a pediatrician is a large part of her life. She is thankful to be able to serve families and watch God’s uniquely created children grow!

Her husband, Jason, and their five children live in Georgetown, and remain her top priority. She works diligently to maintain a balance between her work and family. She strongly believes that being a mother makes her a more compassionate pediatrician. Dr. Mooney’s favorite activities include quality time with her family in just about any venue!  Together, they enjoy hiking, biking, road tripping, simple family meals, or just hanging out on the square in Georgetown!
