I was born in Austin, but unfortunately for my die-hard Longhorn family, I was raised in Dallas. I got my Bachelor’s degree in Neuroscience and Behavior at the University of Notre Dame prior to entering the medical field in orthopedics, working as a medical assistant in Chicago. This job taught me the intricacies of healthcare, including how complex and broken the healthcare system can be. Wanting to make a difference, I then came to UT Austin for medical school and residency and have been here ever since!

Within that time I also became very passionate about advocating for our children and our communities in the legislative system. I got a Masters in Public Policy during my time in medical school. It made me even more passionate about pediatrics, because our children often don’t have voices of their own and need understanding providers to collaborate with families on the best choices for them as a whole. Also, as a plus, kids are 100% cuter.

Outside of advocacy, I’m really interested in supporting families through life’s big transitions including bringing home a new baby, puberty, starting high school. I hope to bring a grounding voice to the chaos that can be life. I hope families feel reassured and understood after their visits with me!

After work, I love to compete in bar trivia, play sand volleyball, read, and walk my dog Dandelion with my partner Nick (both of who I talk about too much).
